Poker Tournament Play
Online Poker Tournaments are the same as you see on TV. Everyone participating buyins in with the set amount needed to play in the tournament. Each player starts with the same amount of chips, and the tournament is ended when one player has all of the chips in play. Once you run out of chips, you are out of the tournament. The prize pool is made up of the tournament buyin. Once the poker tournament starts, the prize pool is calculated and paid out to the top finishing players. The payouts are calculated by how many players are entered into the tournament and the size of the prize pool.

Example:
If the buyin for the poker tournament is $10 and it has 250 players. The prize pool will be $2500. This $2500 will be split up between the players that make the money. Usually the top 10% are considered “in the money”. So in this case 25 players will be paid. The most will go to first place, second most to second place, and so on until the prize pool is 100% paid out.

The last 10 players remaining in our online poker tournaments play the final table. It is called the final table since there are only enough players to left to make up one table, hence it being the final table. During the tournament, players will be moved around to different tables to make sure each table has an equal amount of players.
